John W. "Wes" Reynolds Sr.

John W. “Wes” Reynolds Sr., of 514 Christopher Street, Morrison, IL, died Sunday, February 3, 2008 at his home.

Wes was born January 4, 1924, to Lee Wesley and Emily (Senior) Reynolds, in Garden Plain Township (Fenton) IL. He was educaed in the rural Whiteside County grade schools, and graduated from Erie High School, Erie, IL, in 1942. He married Edna I. Cross on June 8, 1947, in Garden Plain. Wes worked as a dairy farmer for many years in rural Whiteside County. He later was employed by the Northwestern Steel and Wire Company in Sterling, IL for 15 years, until retiring in 1986. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Morrison, where he served as an elder. He also served as a member of the nominating committee of the Blackhawk Presbytery at Stronghold. Wes enjoyed playing cards, camping and traveling with friends and family.

Survivors include his wife Edna; one daughter, Jacque (Rick) Schantz of Grand Rapids, MI; four sons, Rev. John (Cynthia) Reynolds Jr. of Brooklyn, IA, Charles (Linda) Reynolds of Chesapeake, VA, Ken (Karen) Reynolds of Sterling, IL and Dave (Raeann) Reynolds of Savanna, IL; fourteen grandchildren, Marcus (Isabele) Johnston, Anna & Matthew Schantz; John (Amber) Reynolds III, Timothy (Jennifer) Reynolds, Caitlyn Reynolds; Virginia (Craig) Rettie, Patricia (Robert) Dillingham, Karen (Steve) Christine; Dan (Tracy) Rivera, Denice (Dr. John) Froiland; Michael, Matthew and Melissa Wilcox; fourteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Shari Boles; one sister, Josephine Cowles; three brothers, Clarence, William and Harold Reynolds

FUNERAL SERVICE WHEN AND WHERE: 10:30 AM Wednesday – February 6, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church – Morrison, IL

OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Michael Selburg – Pastor: First Presbyterian Church – Morrison, IL

VISITATION: 4:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday – February 5, 2008 at the Morrison Chapel – Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Grove Hill Cemetery – Morrison, IL
