RF Chamber, IDHR to Host Grantsmanship Training

The Illinois Department of Human Resources and the Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce will present a Grantsmanship Training Workshop jointly on Wednesday, March 19, at the Rock Falls Community Building, 601 W. 10th St., from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The maximum number of participants is 35 and interested persons are urged to make reservations early. The workshop is for individuals from community or faith-based organizations responsible for program planning and/or grant writing. Only two persons from each group can resister. The cost is only $10 and covers morning and afternoon breaks. Lunch is on your own.

Included in the program will be a review of the nine-step process for effective program development. Attendees will learn to follow a systematic approach for grant proposal development and avoid the common mistakes that can contribute to a funding entity’s rejection of proposals. Experienced staff will present it from the Illinois Department of Human Resources, Office of Grant Administration.
