Just “What is Diabetes and How Do Women Manage It?” Those topics will be discussed by Cynthia Kreutzer, RNC, BSN, MS, a nurse practitioner at Whiteside County Community Health Clinic, as part of a Diabetes Awareness Day series which starts Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008. The free program will begin at 5:30 p.m. in CGH Medical Center’s Ryberg Auditorium, 100 E. LeFevre Rd., Sterling. The information provided is for women. Guests are welcome. A light supper break will follow the presentation, along with opportunities to visit various Awareness Booths and participate in a Table Talk Support Group. Other local health education opportunities for self-management will be shared as well. Women attending the program will receive a voucher for a free Hemoglobin A1C test at Whiteside County Community Health Clinic. The test will give a baseline measurement of Diabetes control. Future Diabetes Awareness Day programs will take place March 26, April 23 and May 15, with details to be announced.
