Snowmobile Accident Takes Life of Tampico Man
Whiteside County Sheriffs Deputies were called to the scene of a snowmobile crash that occurred along Hahnaman Road just east of the Tampico Village limits on Saturday, February 2, 2008.
The operator of the snowmobile, Scott A. Forward, 33, of Tampico was transported to CGH Medical Center where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The crash remains under investigation
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Tampico Fire/EMS, the Tampico Police Department and CGH EMS.
One-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 88
Whiteside County Deputies are investigating a one-vehicle accident that occurred on Interstate 88 near mile marker 43 around 4:40 p.m. on February 3, 2008. A vehicle driven by Patrick James Roberts, 57, of Denver, CO was traveling westbound on the interstate when it appears he blacked out due to a medical reason. The Roberts vehicle left the roadway and entered the north ditch traveling approximately 100 feet before striking several trees and coming to rest. CGH Ambulance transported Roberts to CGH Medical Center for treatment. The accident remains under investigation.
Deputies received assistance at the scene from Sterling Fire Department and Slim and Hanks Towing.
