Deadline Extended for Ashford's Trip to the British Isles

The registration deadline for Ashford University’s trip to the British Isles has been extended until February 29. This is the first time Ashford has offered this escorted trip and the group will visit locations including London, Stonehenge, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Waterford, Kildare, Dublin, Edinburgh, York and Stratford from May 29-June 8. “This will be an opportunity to explore all five countries of the British Isles and hit the highpoints of them all. We’ll spend two nights in London, Dublin, and Edinburgh so there is a chance to explore them more in depth,” said Sr. Theresa Judge, English instructor at Ashford who is coordinating the trip.

Some of the trip’s highlights include Stonehenge, the Roman relics in Bath, the Waterford Crystal factory, a guided tour of the Irish National Stud in Kildare, Trinity College in Dublin, Edinburgh Castle, the Duke and Duchess of Roxburghe’s home in Floors, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage in Stratford and Shakespeare’s birthplace, and the Irish Sea Pembroke-Rossaire.

The trip, costing $3,199 per person (based on double occupancy), is open to the public and is not limited to AU students. The price includes roundtrip transfers from Clinton to Chicago O’Hare and roundtrip air from Chicago to London Heathrow.

A $250 per person deposit is due February 29 with the final payment due May 15. Additional information can be obtained from Sr. Judge at 563.242.4023 or Mary Jo Dopson at Gateway Travel and Cruise at 563.242.1025.
