This feature image is one of Jerry Dahl’s photographs that will be on display in Ashford University’s Cortona Art Gallery February 4-22.

“Lens Work--Forty Years of Images,” featuring the photography of Clinton Herald photojournalist Jerry Dahl, will be the next exhibit in Ashford University’s Cortona Art Gallery February 4-22. A reception for the photographer will be held on Monday, Feb. 11 from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Born and raised in Ames, Iowa, Dahl graduated from Ames High School in 1963 and attended Iowa State University. He worked at the Audubon News-Advocate, Cedar Falls Record and Waterloo Daily Courier before landing a job at the Clinton Herald in 1975. A fixture at the Herald, Dahl has photographed every type of event in the area. He has been married to Regina for 35 years and has three children and seven grandchildren.

The exhibit will be a retrospective of his photo journalistic work and his passion for nature photography. Gallery displays will feature artifacts from four decades of photojournalism and interactive video displays. The exhibit will be partially funded by the Clinton Herald.
