Two Vehicle Accident Sends Two Drivers to Hospital

A two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Orange and South Streets sent both drivers to Morrison Community Hospital.

According to a Morrison Police report, on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at approximately 12:20 p.m. a car driven by Deborah Taylor, Morrison was westbound on South Street approaching the Orange Street intersection. A truck driven by Elaine Carp, Morrison, was northbound on Orange Street. Taylor failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the Carp vehicle.

The Morrison Ambulance transported Carp to Morrison Community Hospital. Taylor refused treatment at the scene and was transported by personal vehicle to the Hospital. Both drivers were treated and released.

Total damage to both vehicles exceeded $500. Taylor was cited for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device.

The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department, Morrison Fire Department, Morrison Ambulance, Rick’s Auto Body and Hunter’s Auto Body assisted Morrison Police.

Taylor is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
