Emmanuel Plans Renovation and Expansion

The Emmanuel Reformed Church, 202 E Morris, Morrison, Illinois, announces the planned renovation and expansion of the sanctuary beginning Monday, January 7. Bush Construction, Morrison, is the general contractor for this project with Wendler Engineering, Sterling, providing the structural engineering.

Seating capacity will be increased to approximately 500 seats through this project which will expand and renovate the existing balcony by extending the balcony approximately 14 feet out over the main floor of the sanctuary and opening up two present classrooms no longer utilized as such on the sides of the balcony.

During this project, the congregation of Emmanuel will be holding Worship in the multipurpose room of the Christ Center where ample seating will be available. All Sunday school classes will continue to meet in their current spaces.

Emmanuel’s worship style is intentionally blended which means that every week the congregational incorporates traditional and contemporary worship styles in many ways. Through the singing of hymns accompanied by pipe organ and piano, a 50-voice robed choir that offers a variety of anthem styles, and the weekly sharing of one of Emmanuel’s four praise bands a blending of musical styles takes place. Sound biblical preaching and the use of audio-visual tools enhance the worship experience.

The Emmanuel family warmly welcomes guests and visitors any time. While children are always welcome during worship, a staffed nursery is provided for the very young with pagers available to parents in the event that they are needed to come to the nursery while worshiping.

Emmanuel’s campus is fully accessible to those with special needs. For more information, please check out the church’s website at Emmanuel Reformed Church.
