Final Honors for Mustangs

Sunday might have marked the unofficial end to the 2005 Morrison Mustangs. Sunday's Daily Gazette brought the last round of honors for the team with the release of the Sauk Valley Newspapers 2005 All-Area Team. Dustin Vandermyde and Ryan Schisler led the Mustangs by being the only first teamers. Vandermyde was named as a guard on the first team offense and Schisler was named as a cornerback of the first team defense. Nick Vandermyde was named to the second team offense at running back and Sammy Biggs was selected as a second team defensive back. Morrison had five honorees as honorable mention and they were: Zach Harridge-center, Greg Frickenstein-linebacker, Chris Scott-offensive and defensive line, Austin Rickels-wide receiver, and Nate McBride-running back. Garrett Barnas and Dave Moore of Bureau Valley were named the Player and Coach of the Year. Congratulations to those who were selected.
