5th Grade Colts host Amboy

Amboy came into town Saturday to play a game originally scheduled for August 20th. The colts started the scoring with a very nice run by Danny Willis led by guard Nate Pfister. Fifty-three yards later Danny was in for the score. The two-point conversion wasn't good leaving the score 6-0. Danny scored again on his second carry of the game on a well-executed reverse from 21 yards out. The two-point conversion run by Andrew Connelly was good bringing the score to 14-0.

Alex Volckman set up our last score with a 29 yard run down to the one-yard line. Blake Blean then ran it in from the one on a broken play that covered about 20 yards after all was said and done. The two-point conversion run by Brock Deter was good making the score 22-0.

I know every time I write up our games I praise the defense. This time is no different. We as coaches are very proud of the physical but clean play of our young men. Although Amboy finished with a positive 46 yards for the game, up until two minutes left in the 3rd quarter they had a negative 16 yards for the game. Our next game will be announced later as our opponent for Saturday the 17th has cancelled.
