7th Grade Cowboys Junior Tackle

The 7th Grade Cowboys traveled to Mt. Carroll on Sat. Aug 27 to face the newest member of the I-5 Conference, West Carroll.

The Cowboys were in control of the game the entire time. The scoring started on the 3rd play of the game as a Nick Volckmann broke loose for a 46 yd touchdown run. Corbin Blean ran the ball in for the 2 point conversion.

The defense never even gave West Carroll a chance as time and time again the Cowboys the broke through the offensive line to force West Carroll into negative yardage. Damien Rieck, Corbin Blean, Dylon Smith, Cody Scott, Bryce Vegter, Tyler Cronister and Jeremy Shaner were standouts for the defense as they allowed only one first down for West Carroll and that was on a penalty. The total yards for West Carroll totalled a negative amount. Congratulations to Coach Pat Carney and assistant Paco Rodriquez.
Corbin Blean added a touchdown run of 28 yards, with Mitch Hood passing to Bryce Vegter for the 2point conversion.

Will Bird added 3 separate touchdown runs of 22 yds, 22 yds and 48 yds in addition to two 2 point conversions. Zach Schaver pitched with another 2point conversion and to top off the day Frankie Wilkens scored the final touchdown of the day.

The Cowboys won the game with a score of 46 - 0.

Coach Carney made every attempt to keep the score down, but his hard hitting Cowboys were not to be denied.

As all the players see more time on the field, this Cowboy team gets stronger and more cohesive.
