F-S Fillies drop a heartbreaker to Alleman

On April 21 the F/S Fillies hosted Rock Island Alleman. Jordan Mann pitched. It was a defensive battle for both teams as only five runs were scored in the game. The Fillies had a lot of runners on base but it was not until the fifth inning that one made it home. The run was scored when Kyla Renkes singled, Megan Nelson bunted on, Heather Andersen bunted on, and Callie Bush singled in Andersen. This was after Alleman scored three runs of their own in the fourth.

The other run for the Fillies came in the bottom of the seventh when Nelson doubled, Andersen pushed nelson to third and Nelson stole home. The scoring stopped here with the final 2-3.

The Fillies put up a great defensive effort against a very experienced team. Both the infield and outfield made a lot of good plays and timely catches. Mann finished the game with 2 strikeouts in her effort. This leaves the team 11-2 on the year.
