Fillies Blow Past the Lady Clippers

On January 4, The Fillies hosted the Amboy Lady Clippers just before the snow really started to fall. Despite the weather, there was still a sizeable crowd that was entertained by some great basketball and the Morrison Pep Band.

The Frosh/Soph girls came out strong, and took an easy win form the Clippers, winning with a score of 40-33. After a Pre-Game show by the pep band, the Fillies came out and again showed just how well they coild play. Morrison came out strong, taking a 6 point lead and increasing it throughout the quarter. The Fillies were up 20-6 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Fillies continued the barrage of scoring, and increased their defense, getting a lot of turnovers, which turned into points on the Fillies side. The Fillies went into halftime in control of the game, with a score of 34-15.

In the second half, The Fillies became a little sloppier, giving up a few turnovers and causing a few more fouls, but relentless scoring paved the way to an easy victory. At the end of the quarter, it was 52-21, meaning that there would be a continuous clock in the fourth. With all starters out for the fourth quarter, there was relatively little scoring from either side, but when the 8 minutes were up, the score was 56-25.
