Illinois State Police Reports

Illinois State Police investigated an accident on December 10, 2005, at 1:20 p.m. at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Market Street in Tampico involving a Whiteside County Squad car.
Kristopher S. Schmidt, 33, Morrison, was traveling southbound on Lincoln Avenue, responding to a house fire and failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a vehicle driven by Ronald G. Carboni, 54, Tampico in the intersection.
Seat belts were worn, preventing injuries.
Both vehicles sustained damage over $500. The squad car was drivable. Randy’s Towing of Tampico towed the Carboni vehicle.

Illinois State Police Department investigated a two-vehicle accident on December 10, 2005 at 6:20 p.m. in which a vehicle driven by Justin L. Mulnix, 17, Rock Falls was westbound on US 30 when he lost control due to snow and crossed the center line, striking a vehicle driven by Michelle M. Schroth, 29, Morrison, who was eastbound on US 30, head on.
Schroth and a passenger in the Mulnix vehicle, Ariana M Tarner, 15, Rock Falls were taken by CGH Ambulance to Community General Hospital in Sterling. Seatbelts were worn, reducing severity of injuries.
Damage to both vehicles was in excess of $500. Williams Auto Body towed both vehicles.
Mulnix was arrested for Driving too Fast for Conditions. The charge is only an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
