U Of I Horse Breeders' Short Course January 14-15 |

Source: Dr. Kevin Kline, 217/333-1784 The University of Illinois, Departments of Veterinary Clinical Medicine and Animal Sciences at Champaign-Urbana will hold its Eleventh Annual Equine Breeding Management Short Course on Saturday and Sunday, January 14th and 15th, 2006. This intensive course designed for mare owners, breeding farm managers and veterinarians will offer lectures, wet labs, and hands-on experience to a limited number of participants. Topics covered will include mare and stallion reproduction, ultrasonography, artificial insemination, hormone use in reproduction, infertility and new technologies, cooled and frozen semen techniques, embryo transfer, health and management, nutrition, and reproductive behavior. This course will be limited to a small group and the course fee will be $395. All activities will be held at the Department of Animal Sciences Equine Reproduction Facility and the Veterinary Medicine Large Animal Clinic in Champaign-Urbana.
