Methodist Church - New Visions: New Directions |
|
The Morrison United Methodist Church announces its theme words for the New Visions: New Directions year: “Faith, Hope, and Love.” The Tuesday nights in November, December and March will feature a biblical study and discussion on these important words of Paul. These meetings are open to all and will begin at 7:00 PM and last an hour. Beginning November 8, Pastor Dan Swinson will lead a study on the Scriptural meaning of “Faith” as it appears 275 times. On the following Tuesday, November 15, Pastor Heju Cha will present “Hope” and its meanings from Scripture. On November 22, Pastor Dan Swinson will conclude with “Love.” Come, learn, and discuss why Paul said, “these three remain: Faith, Hope, and Love. And the greatest of these is Love.” During the month of December on Tuesday evening, “Faith, Hope, and Love” will be considered through the incarnation of God’s gift to mankind: Jesus Christ. Throughout Lent, these same words will be meditated upon as they relate to the death and resurrection of God’s son. Other important dates and events in the life of the United Methodist Church are Sunday, December 4 and Wednesday, December 21st. The chancel choir, handbell choir, and soloists will present its annual holiday concert:” The Sounds of Christmas”, at 5:00 PM on Sunday, December 4th. On Wednesday, December 21, Peter Eide, will be in concert presenting both Christian praise music and Christmas music. The public is welcomed to attend both of these concerts. Mark your calendars. A free will offering will be taken. by Editor, theCity1.com |
