“Holiday Dining for the Diabetic” Two Hour Workshop Offered |

You have diabetes, or you cook for a diabetic. How can you possibly make it through the food-strewn holidays and still manage diabetes? The University of Illinois Extension will offer a special program just for diabetics and their families. “Holiday Dining for the Diabetic” will be held Friday, November 4 at the Whiteside County Senior Center, 1207 West Ninth Street, Sterling from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. During the session Sarah Todd, RD, Extension Educator, Nutrition and Wellness with the University of Illinois Extension will teach strategies to effectively deal with food choices during the holiday season. The program will include a cooking demonstration. Those attending will sample foods made during the program. Pre-registration for this program is necessary. Contact Whiteside County Extension office at 815/772-4075 before November 2 to register. There is a $3 program fee to cover costs.
