Kids-Only Cook-Off

Eight kids from across Whiteside County competed in the Kids-Only Cook-Off held Thursday, September 22, 2005 at the Morrison Odell Library Community Room. The cook-off was sponsored by University of Illinois Extension. Each contestant was graded on their oral presentation in addition to the nutritional content, appearance, and taste of their recipe. The audience had the opportunity to sample the various recipes as well. Although it was VERY difficult, (we have talented kids here in Whiteside County!), the judges selected three finalists. These three kids have been entered as a team in the IL Jr. Chef Contest. If selected, they will compete on-stage at KIDFEST-Chicago in October!

3rd Place: Pie Michael Oldenburg, Age 12, Rock Falls: Juicy Fruit Tower
