Identity Theft Workshops

Source: Heather Coyle, Academic Hourly, 815/772-4075

We have all seen the TV. commercials ... the disheveled man in the lazy-chair with a can of beer and a perky valley-girl voice, sharing how “she” just made a major leather purchase with “his” credit card. Although we laugh, the commercial also alerts us to the growing and very serious problem of identity theft!

The question is, “Will YOU be the next victim?”

You do not have to be! You can educate and protect yourself by calling the University of Illinois Extension Office in Morrison to register for one of the following Identity Theft workshops: Wednesday, October 5, 2005 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Whiteside County Senior Center in Sterling, or Tuesday, October 11, 2005 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Henry Adams Memorial Library in Prophetstown.

And the cost? Free. Call 815-772-4075 to register. Do not delay. You do not want to be the personification for the next commercial!
