Two Guest Speakers for New Visions: New Directions

The Morrison United Methodist Church announces its New Visions: New Directions program for the 2005-2006 year. The centering theme will be on Paul’s words: “These three I leave you: Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of these is Love.” The year will begin in September with a study of four of the world’s religions: Judaism, Islam, Protestant Potpourri, and Orthodoxy.

Presented each Tuesday evening at 7:00 in the church’s sanctuary, the four religions will feature a guest speaker. Tuesday, September 6th the discussion will center on Islam. On September 13th, Morrison attorney Lester Weinstine will discuss his Jewish faith. and Tuesday, September 20, Pastor Dan Swinson will discuss Protestant Potpourri, a look at the charismatic movement in our nation. Two members of the Orthodox religion will present orthodoxy on Tuesday, September 27.

Each of these Tuesday night evenings of World Religion study is an opportunity to come, grow, and learn. The community is invited to attend. Brochures for the 2005-2006 New Visions: New Directions year are available at the church or by calling the church office (772-4030).
