Inaugural Class of Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame Announced |

Source: Rod Stoll, Director, Illinois 4-H Foundation, 217-333-0333 Forty-one individuals associated with 4-H were named to the inaugural class of the Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame during the 4-H Family Picnic at the 2005 Illinois State Fair on August 13. The Illinois 4-H Foundation established the Hall of Fame this year to honor extraordinary 4-H alumni, volunteers, or former 4-H staff members. Hall of Fame inductees were nominated by county University of Illinois Extension staff and have a track record of exemplary service to 4-H or outstanding career and community achievement. Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame Class of 2005 The Inaugural Class of Inductees:
4-H is the largest out-of-school educational program for youth in the United States. 4-H seeks to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, forming attitudes, and developing life skills that will enable them to become caring, competent, and contributing members of society. In Illinois, 285,991 youth participate in 4-H and the other youth programs of U of I Extension. More than 26,000 adult volunteers assist in the programming.
