Morrison Fire Department Named “2005 Friend Of The Fair”

The ceremony is fairly brief, but Whiteside County Fair Board of Directors President Paul Vock considers it one of the most important events of each year’s fair.

It is the “Friend of the Fair” presentation, this year scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 20, before the Demo Derby

“This year we will be holding the presentation between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m.,” Vock said.

The fair board has chosen The Morrison Fire Department as the “2005 Friend of the Fair” honoree. Since 1989, the board has sought to single out those who have made an extra effort to help support and make the annual Fair as much fun as possible for all those who participate or attend the many shows and events.

“This year, the board offers its sincere thanks for the many years of their friendship and work they do at the Whiteside County Fair” according to Vock.

“It is always a great pleasure to present this award,” he said, noting the fair’s continued success depends on so many people doing so many different things.
