Morrison Police Report 08-15-05

On 8-11-05, at approximately 8:40 a.m. Morrison Police charged Wilbur E. Meinsma, 71, Albany, Illinois, with criminal trespass to state supported property. The charge was the result of an investigation of complaints by several witnesses that Meinsma was driving his truck on the walking path at French Creek Park. Meinsma was issued a notice to appear in court. Meinsma is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On 08-12-05, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Morrison Police charged two juveniles, ages 13 and 15, both of Morrison, with one count each of criminal damage to property, over $300. The charges were the result of an investigation into the damage to a Ford Escort owned by Jerry Z. Main, Morrison, at 34 Meadowbrook Drive on August 1. The Main vehicle was scratched with a sharp object, and an egg was placed in the fuel tank. Total damage was estimated at over $1,700.
The cases have been referred to the Whiteside County State’s Attorney for adjudication. Both juveniles are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
