New Design Team Available for Events

After their recent, sesquicentennial decorating triumph at the Whiteside County fairgrounds, Frank Vavra, left, and Bob Vaughn have teamed up to offer their design services to the public.

If you need to add a decorative touch to your next party, reunion, or weekend event, these men will be an asset.

Their handiwork was in evidence throughout the fairgrounds July 8-10. The ticket booth at gate 1 was wrapped in red, white, and blue fringe.

It is difficult to hang and staple enormous lengths of fringe while standing on a ladder. But, Vaughn completed this task, with Vavra's help, and damaged none of the flowers surrounding the booth.

The men added coordinating, patriotic penants to the fences edging both ticket booths for a matching look. Bows, like the ones they wear, were attached to both sides of the Whiteside County Fair sign.

Matching fringe edged the stage on the racetrack. Using their problem-solving abilities, they erected a makeshift awning on the stage to protect performers and speakers.

Two of Vaughn's employees, Kim Topp and Felicia McCombs, painted the slats on the speaker stand red, white, and blue.

Bunting draped one side of the public restrooms.

Vaughn and Vavra specialize in plastic banners purchased from inexpensive commercial catalogs. However, the "Double V Design" team will customize your gala.
