Morrison Police Report 06-20-05

On 06-14-05, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Morrison Police investigated a two-car accident in the 500 block of North Genesee Street. A car driven by Jennifer Douglas, 22, Erie, Illinois, had backed from a parking stall at Northside School, and was preparing to drive south on Genesee Street. A second car driven by Brian C. Houzenga, 21, Morrison, backed from a private drive across from Northside School and into the Douglas vehicle. There were no injuries as a result of the collision. Both vehicles received in excess of $500 damage. Houzenga was cited for failure to yield from a private drive. Houzenga is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On 06-17-05, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Suzanne M. Kuehl, Morrison, reported that someone had scratched the paint on her car with a sharp instrument. The damage occurred some time that day while the Kuehl vehicle was parked at the Little League Diamonds on Andy Brands Drive.

On 06-18-05, at approximately 5:20 p.m., Morrison Police arrested a 16-year-old juvenile for motor vehicle theft. The juvenile was charged after police received a report of a vehicle stolen from 613 Lincolnway Court earlier in the morning. The vehicle was stolen the previous night. A resident reported the vehicle abandoned at the intersection of Florence and Morris Streets at approximately 1 p.m.

The juvenile was subsequently transported to Mary Davis Home juvenile detention facility in Galesburg pending a court appearance. The juvenile is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Assisting the Morrison Police Department in this investigation were the Illinois State Police, Division of Crime Scene Services, and Whiteside County Juvenile Court Services.
