Charges Increased to Aggravated Battery |

On 06-13-05, the Whiteside County State’s Attorney’s Office filed three counts of aggravated battery against two Morrison men involved in a fight at Da Bar tavern on East Main Street. The charges were filed after the Morrison Police Department completed an investigation into the June 4 incident. Charged were Robert J. McDonnell, 37, and Charles W. Bush, 42. McDonnell was charged with two counts of aggravated battery, Bush was charged with one count of aggravated battery. Two victims in the fight were treated at Morrison Community Hospital Emergency Department. One victim was treated and released, the other victim was transported to Community General Hospital in Sterling where he was admitted for treatment. McDonnell and Bush are scheduled to appear in Whiteside County Court on June 28. Aggravated battery is a Class 3 Felony, punishable by two to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
