On 05-19-05, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Morrison Police arrested Joshua E. Messenger, 18, Morrison, on charges of criminal damage to property and unlawful consumption of an alcoholic beverage. The arrest was made after police responded to a call, at Sullivan’s Foods, of an intoxicated minor who had broken two vending machines at the store. Messenger had fled the scene just prior to the arrival of police, but was apprehended two blocks east of the store. Messenger was subsequently incarcerated in the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center in lieu of $100 cash bond. Messenger is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. On 05-23-05, at approximately 4:25 p.m., Morrison Police arrested Peter C. Walters, 52, 30 Meadowbrook Drive, Morrison, on charges of aggravated assault and resisting a police officer. Walters was arrested at his residence after police responded to a complaint that Walters had threatened another resident of his home with a knife. During the arrest, Walters attempted to grasp his dog pen, and had to be forcibly removed by the officer. Walters was subsequently incarcerated in the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center in lieu of $100 cash bond.
