Help Support “The Big Dig”

The Friends of Morrison Swimming are having several fundraisers for “The Big Dig” to deepen the high school pool. “The Morrison High School pool depth is 3’6” which is 6” less than required by the National Federation of High Schools and The United States Swimming for safety with starting blocks,” Board President Steve Wilkins explains. “Our group’s goal is to raise money toward completion of this project. Elimination of this safety issue not only will benefit the Morrison High School and Junior High swimming programs, but also the Morrison Seahorse Swim Club kids who start at age 5 and the general public.“

Take a break from citywide garage sales on May 14th and have lunch with us at the cookout corner, which is located on the southeast corner of Rt. 78 and Rt. 30 from 10:00 – 3:00. There will be butterfly pork chop sandwiches, grilled chicken breast sandwiches, brats, hot dogs, chips, and pop. Big Dig merchandise will also be available to buy. Friends of Morrison Swimming will be serving the same menu again on June 11th and Sept 3rd. Come back for more good food!

Another exciting event coming up is the Splash For Cash on August 6. Swimmers of all ages will be swimming as many laps as they can to raise money for the “Big Dig”. There will be food, prizes, and lots of fun on that day. Come swim and dunk people in the dunk tank. The Friends of Morrison Swimming Hall of Fame Induction will be held in conjunction with this event. Plan to spend the day with us and help raise money to deepen the pool for the next generation of swimmers!
