Morrison Police Department News Report 4-18-05

On 4-14-05, at approximatley 11:15am, Jeramie M. Patterson, Morrison, reported that a compact disc player was stolen from his truck.

The theft occurred some time the previous night while the Patterson vehicle was parked in the 500 block of West Morris Street.

On 4-14-05, at approximately 3:24pm, Morrison Police investigated a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Orange Street and West Lincolnway. a pick-up, driven by Elizabeth Smith Mead, 40, Tampico, was northbound, stopped at the stop sign. A car following Mead, driven by Mark A. Nelson, 38, Clinton, Iowa, attempted to pass Mead on the left, striking Mead's truck. There were no injuries reported as a result of the collision. Total damages to both vehicles exceeded $500. Nelson was cited for improper overtaking. Nelson is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On 4-15-05, at approximately 6:58am, Kevin A. Rieck, Morrison, reported that a rear window and tail light were broken on his truck. The damage occurred some time the previous night while the Rieck vehicle was parked in the 200 block of Towne Street.

On 4-15-05, at approximately 1:10pm, Janice R. Bos, Morrison, reported that someone entered her residence , at 103 West Park Street, sometime the previous night and stole her purse. The purse was found the following day, with it's entire contents, on Route 30near the Whiteside County Highway Department.

On 4-15-05, at approximately 3:43pm, a Morrison Junior High School student reported that his bicycle was stolen from the bike rack at the Junior High some time the previous evening.

On 4-16-05, at approximately 9:24am, Morrison Police arrested Bonnie J. Huling, 31, Albany, Illinois, on charges of driving while license suspended and no valid registration.Huling was charged after police observed her leaving the Whiteside County Law Center parking lot. Huling was subsequently released on a notice to appear in court. Huling is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On 4-17-05, at approximately 7:44am, Morrison Police and the Whiteside County Sheriff's Office investigated a vehicle and arson that occurred some time the previous night. A car owned by Nathan J. Reafsnider, 19, Clinton, Iowa, was stolen from the parking lot of Pleasantview Nursing Facility. The vehicle was later found burned in a farm field off of Hazel Road approximately 1/4 mile east of Bishop Road. The Illinois State Police, Divisionof Crime Scene Services, and the Illinois State Fire Marshall's Office are assisting in the investigation of this incident.
