Police Reports 04-11-05 |

On 04-04-05, at approximately 3:28 p.m., Morrison Police charged a 14-year-old juvenile with one count of aggravated battery. The juvenile was charged after officers were called to investigate a fight at the intersection of Genesee and Morris Streets after school. During the altercation, a 16-year-old juvenile was struck several times in the face by the suspect. After police received the information from the victim, the suspect juvenile was apprehended in the 400 block of East Main Street following a brief foot pursuit. Morrison Police were assisted by the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police, Division of Operations during the apprehension of the suspect. The suspect juvenile had previously been reported as a runaway. The suspect juvenile was subsequently released to the custody of a parent. The case has been referred to the Whiteside County State’s Attorney’s Office for adjudication. The juvenile suspect is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. On 04-06-05 at approximately 8:17 p.m., Jennifer Gray, Morrison, reported that her son’s bicycle was stolen from the bike rack at Odell Public Library some time that evening. On 04-10-05, at approximately 6:22 a.m., Morrison Police arrested Darrell A. Decker, 46, Morrison, on two (2) counts of aggravated battery, one (1) count of aggravated assault, and two (2) counts of resisting a police officer. Decker had been released from the Morrison Community Hospital Emergency Department when he struck an Emergency Medical Technician. Decker then fled from the hospital, through several residential yards before being apprehended by a Morrison Police Officer and a Whiteside County Sheriff’s Deputy. A brief struggle ensued during the apprehension in which the Deputy Sheriff received a shoulder injury and the Morrison officer was kicked in the leg, without injury. Decker was subsequently transported to the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center where he was incarcerated pending a hearing before a judge. Decker is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. On 04-10-05, at approximately 9:04 a.m., Jill M. Schroeder, Morrison, reported that someone had damaged her car during the early morning hours. Schroeder’s car sustained a broken windshield and dents to the fender and roof of her car. The damage is estimated to be in excess of $1,500. The damage occurred in the 500 block of West Wall Street. On 04-11-05, at approximately 1:07 a.m., Morrison Police arrested James R. Glazier, 58, Sterling, on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Glazier was charged in the 700 block of East Lincolnway after police received a motorist report of an erratic driver on Route #30. Glazier was subsequently transported to the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center where he was later released on a notice to appear in court.
