Rumors Stating Mike Boland Suffered A Heart Attack are False

State Representative Mike Boland (D-East Moline) issued a news release from his district legislative office Wednesday, April 6, 2005 to put to rest rumors that he had suffered a heart attack or other life threatening health problems. Representative Mike Boland, who represents portions of Rock Island, Henry, Whiteside and Carroll counties, has never had a heart attack and certainly did not suffer from any kind of cardiac incident within the last week.

“I did not suffer a heart attack or any other serious health problems, and any rumors to the contrary were pure fabrication,” Boland emphasized. “My family and I were quite shocked to see the false story on my own heart attack on the news, and I don’t understand what motivated the spreading the rumor,” he added.

“It seems I’d simply caught some kind of bug that’s going around, and despite rumors to the contrary, a day of tests in the hospital has shown absolutely nothing and the best the doctors can tell, I was simply suffering from a virus. I am alive and well and will be returning to my duties next week in Springfield,” Boland concluded.
