Living Well Week |
|
On February 28, the United States Senate passed a resolution designating the week of March 13-19 as Extension Living Well Week. Governor Rod Blagojevich has also issued a proclamation recognizing the week throughout Illinois. During this week, University of Illinois Extension family and consumer science professionals are making special efforts to educate citizens about ways to improve the quality of life for adults, youth, individuals and families. The emphasis is on healthy lifestyles, nutrition and food safety, financial management, safety in the home and work environment, relationship and parenting skills, and many more aspects of “Living Well.” The goal of the “Living Well” campaign is to make citizens aware of the many University of Illinois Extension resources that are available to help them achieve a positive, healthy lifestyle. Whether it’s managing diabetes through meal planning and exercise, making decisions about health care and insurance, or getting tips on effective parenting techniques. Extension has information that can help.
