Police Reports 03-14-05

On 03-10-05, at approximately 11:28 a.m., Morrison Police charged Leslie W. Denning, 33, Sterling, with driving while license revoked. Denning was arrested after court security personnel observed him driving his truck to court. Denning was subsequently issued a notice to appear in court. Denning is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On 03-11-05, at approximately 9:35 a.m., Morrison Police arrested Christopher W. Jones, 50, Morrison, on a Coles County, Illinois warrant, charging Jones with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Jones was subsequently transported to the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center in lieu of $4,000 bond. Jones is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On 03-12-05, at approximately 12:17 p.m., Morrison Police investigated a two-vehicle crash in the 600 block of East Lincolnway. A westbound van driven by Gerald E. Hollaway, 36, Sterling, was stopped for traffic just east of the Jackson Street intersection. A car driven by Amanda M. Smith, 17, Morrison, struck the Hollaway van in the rear. There were no injuries reported. Total damage to both vehicles exceeded $500. Smith was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Smith is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On 03-13-05, at approximately 1:31 p.m., Jason Bush, 20, Morrison, reported that someone entered his residence at 501 East Main Street and stole a television set. The burglary occurred some time over the weekend.
