Police Reports 03-07-05 |

On 03-01-05, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Morrison Police received its third report, over the past three weeks, of a wallet stolen from the girl’s locker room at Morrison Community High School. In each case, the victims lost a driver’s license and cash as a result of the theft. On 03-01-05, at approximately 12:05 p.m., Brian S. Nafzger, Mundelein, IL, reported that someone had entered the cab of his pick-up truck and stolen an in-dash compact disc player, valued at approximately $130. The theft occurred some time during the previous weekend while the Nafzger truck was parked in the parking lot of Morrison Institute of Technology. On 03-02-05, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Morrison Police investigated a criminal damage to property report at the Morrison Christian Church. Some time the previous night, someone had struck the east door of the church, breaking several windows on the door. The damage is estimated at approximately $400. On 03-02-05, at approximately 7:05 p.m., Morrison Police charged a 15-year-old juvenile with one count of burglary. The juvenile was charged after an employee of Sullivan Foods caught the juvenile leaving the store with a stolen bottle of liquor. The juvenile was subsequently released to the custody of a parent. The case has been referred to the Whiteside County State’s Attorney’s Office for adjudication. The juvenile is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. On 03-04-05, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Morrison Police charged two 14-year-old juveniles with one count, each, of possession of an incendiary or explosive device. The juveniles were charged after Morrison Police investigated an incident that occurred on the afternoon of 02-28-05, when a McGyver-type explosive device was detonated in a trash container in the boy’s restroom at Morrison Junior High School. There were no injuries as a result of the explosion. The device previously mentioned has the likely potential of spraying shrapnel and hydrochloric acid over a ten to twenty foot radius of the explosion.
On 03-05-05, at approximately 4:57 a.m., Aaron L. Huizenga, Morrison, reported that someone had entered his car, sometime the previous night, and stolen ten (10) compact discs. The theft occurred while the Huizenga vehicle was parked in the 400 block of East Wall Street. On 03-05-05, at approximately 8:19 a.m., Jessica K. Kuehl, Morrison, reported that both license plates were stolen from her car the previous night. The theft occurred while the Kuehl vehicle was parked near the intersection of LeRoy and Towne Streets. The license plates were later found in Kuehl’s mailbox. On 03-05-05, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Charles E. Brall, Sr., reported that both license plates were stolen from his car some time the previous night. The theft occurred in the 500 block of North Orange Street. On 03-05-05, at approximately 4:39 p.m., Morrison Police arrested Constance N. Waters, 34, Morrison, for driving while license revoked. Waters was arrested at the intersection of Genesee and Market Streets. Waters was also charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. Waters was subsequently released on a notice to appear in court. Waters is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. On 03-06-05, at approximately 9:41 a.m., Morrison Police arrested Michael P. Shinville, 45, Morrison, on a Rock Island County arrest warrant charging Shinville with failure to appear on a previous charge. Shinville was subsequently incarcerated in the Whiteside County Law Enforcement Center in lieu of $250 bond. Shinville is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. On 03-06-05, at approximately 2:50 p.m., Shaun B. Vegter, Morrison, reported that both license plates were stolen from his car some time the previous night. The theft occurred in the 200 block of South Madison Street. On 03-06-05, at approximately 6:08 p.m., a representative of Morrison Community High School reported that someone had broken two light globes at the high school that afternoon. The total value of the globes was estimated at $50. On 03-07-05, at approximately 1:54 a.m., Morrison Police arrested Hugo Castillo for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Castillo was stopped in the 600 block of East Lincolnway after police received a motorist report of an erratic driver on Route #30. Castillo was also charged with driving without a license and improper lane usage. Castillo was subsequently released after posting $300 bond.
