U of I Crop Management Conference to Address Critical Issues |

The latest perspectives on critical crop production and protection issues for corn, soybean, and wheat growers will be discussed at the Northern Illinois Crop Management Conference on March 1 and 2, 2005 at Malta. The Conference is designed to address a wide array of “hot” topics pertinent to northern Illinois, including soybean aphids, corn rootworms, soybean rust, wheat management techniques, and nitrogen rate management. Additional topics include GPS, crop insurance, managing problem weeds, and crop rotation. Presenters will be Extension specialists and educators. The Conference will be held at the Kishwaukee College Convention Center, Malta. The college is located on Route 38 about 8 miles east of I-39. The format for each day will include numerous concurrent sessions where individuals can attend one of 3 or 4 topics. Each session will last 80 minutes providing time for in-depth discussion and interaction. Continuing education units for have been applied for Certified Crop Advisers. Registration on March 1 is from 8 am to 8:55 am and on March 2 from 7:30 am to 9 am. The program on March 1 begins at 9 am and at 8 am on March 2. The Conference concludes at 4 pm both days. The preregistration fee is $75.00 per person in advance and is due February 22. Late registration or registration at the door will be $100.00 per person. The fee includes lunch, refreshments, and handouts for both days. There is no one-day registration.
