Forage Institute: Slated for March 3rd- 2005 |

The Illinois Forage and Grassland Council (IFGC) will host the organization’s annual Forage Institute and Hay Marketing Conference March 3rd, 2005 at the Interstate Center, Bloomington, IL. The 2005 Institute will feature Illinois producers discussing the use of forages on their own farm operations whether for hay or grazing on beef, dairy herds or sheep flocks. One producer selected form this competition will represent Illinois at the American Forage and Grassland Council Annual Conference (AFGC) Forage Spokesperson contest in June. Ron Tombaugh –2005 AFGC Conference Co-Chair will discuss plans for the Annual AFGC meeting and Illinois Forage Expo scheduled for June in the Bloomington area. Jerry Millburg – Ag Market News Reporter with the Illinois Department of Agriculture will update producers on Hay Marketing in Illinois. Russel Higgins – IPM Educator – University of Illinois Extension will address the topic of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Quality Hay. Exhibitors representing and servicing The Illinois Forage/Livestock Industry will showcase their equipment, seed, supplies and services available for 2005. Forage and livestock producers will have ample time to visit the exhibit area during the morning break or over the lunch hour. Registration and visiting the exhibits will begin at 9:00 AM at the Interstate Center, 2301 W. Market Street, Bloomington IL. The program begins at 9:30 AM. The registration fee of $15 per individual by February 23rd, 2005 will include lunch and program materials. Late registration or at the door is $20 per person.
