Death Investigation Continues

The Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation of the death of a 38-year-old Morrison woman. She was transported from her rural Morrison home to the Morrison Hospital by ambulance at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2005.

According to the Sheriff report, she reported that she had taken an unknown number of tablets of prescription medication and had drunk alcohol.

She was later air lifted to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford where she died at about 5:30 a.m.

The Winnebago County coroner’s office has scheduled an autopsy for Monday morning, February 7. The investigation is continuing.

The deceased has been identified as Karen S. Hartwick Stegenga, 38, Morrison.
