Recovering from Holiday Debt Workshop to be held

For those who have run up credit card debt over the holidays in an attempt to spread a bit of holiday cheer, recovering from that debt can be a real challenge. The prevalence of television ads promising early tax returns, debt consolidation, and short-term loans is only one indicator of the problem many face when the bills start rolling in.

The University of Illinois Extension, Whiteside County, will offer a FREE workshop for those desiring to confront this problem. Evelyn Prasse, Extension Consumer and Family Economics Educator, will discuss methods of debt recovery as well as methods for preventing it again next year. There is hope, and there are reasonable solutions.

The workshop will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15th in either Morrison or Sterling, depending upon the best location for the majority of those registering. Although the workshop is free, registration is required by February 10th in order to determine location.

Register today by calling the University of Illinois Extension Office at (815) 772-4075.
