Mustangs Downed by the Clippers

Friday night, December 3, was an exciting night for the Frosh/Soph Boys, who went head to head with the Amboy Clippers, but ended up losing in the final seconds by 2 points. The Varsity game followed, but no such thing was seen.

Trevor Popkin started out strong, putting in the first 3 pointer of the game, going up 3-0, but that would be the only lead that Morrison had the entire game. The first quarter went by slow, with little scoring, and many turnover, leaving the score at 5-9 at the end of the first. In the second, Amboy stole the show, taking the lead, 18-7 by the half.

Morrison came out a little slow in the third, scoring just 2 points in the first 5 minutes. In the final minutes, however, Morrison was able to score 4 more points by the end of the quarter, only being down 13-27 going into the 4th. The 4th quarter was also held to low scoring, but was highlighted by 3 pointers from Popkin and Patten, and then another 2 from D. Vandermyde in the final seconds to put the score at 23-36, giving Amboy a big win.
