Morrison may have lost the game in point totals, but they won two columns in the stat book. The Fillies committed just 13 fouls in the game, compared to the Warriors’ 15.
The Fillies also had a better free throw percentage. They made five of their nine attempts. Sterling also made five free throws, but they had 11 attempts.
Another positive thing that came out of this game was that of Morrison’s five scorers of the game, three of them had six points, and another had five. There were no standout scorers for Morrison. They were balanced.
“We stuck with the very aggressive offense and defense of the Lady Warriors. We got more shots and offensive rebounds than past games. We were also more aggressive.” Brianne Jensen commented, after having her best game of the season, so far, against the Warriors. She was one of the three with six points.
Sophomores Kelly Tenboer and Brandy Stuart put up six points apiece. Kelly’s scores came from 2 of 7 shooting and two free throws. Brandy’s scoring came from knocking in 3 of her 8 field goal attempts.
