The Colts’ defense stopped Rochelle again three and out, but Rochelle soon got the ball back on a Morrison fumble. Mark McDonnell, assisted by Seth Buckwalter, brought down a Rochelle runner just before the end of the first quarter. Dennehey, Zach Blasdell, and Neighbour all hit hard to keep Rochelle contained. Neighbour added another tackle, this time for a loss, to end Rochelle’s series. The Colts tried to put the ball in the air on their next possession. But defense from Rochelle led to 2 incompletions. Neighbour then collected 12 yards on the ground for the 1st down. On the next play, Rochelle sacked Dennehey to set up 2nd and 25. Mark McDonnell, Kyle Heusinkveld, and Belt all had key tackles to end Rochelle’s next series and to end the 3rd quarter. The Colt’s offense struggled a bit at the beginning of the 4th quarter. Rochelle sacked Tegeler and the Colts gained only a few yards on the next play. Coach Onken called for a pass play next. Quarterback Dennehey passed downfield to Neighbour who went 46 yards for the TD. The run for the PAT was short. The score of the game was now 28 – 0. However, there was a flag on the play against the Colts’ offense. The TD was called back. The final score of the contest was 28 – 0. Coach Onken complimented Rochelle on their pass defense and the fact that they hit hard. He noted that the Colt’s defense played well again.
