Freshman Football Team Wins Opener

The Bureau Valley Storm came to Morrison, but the skies were clear for the freshman football team. The Ponies won Monday’s game by a score of 26-8.

Morrison turned a Bureau Valley fumble into 6 points when Nate McBride hauled in a Derek Ward touchdown pass. The Storm battled back and took an 8-6 lead but less than three minutes later Matt Proud ran for Morrison’s second touchdown. The Ponies went to the half time break with a 12-8 lead.

The second half was all Morrison as touchdown runs by Seth Ashpole and Proud cushioned the lead.

Next up for the Ponies is Erie/PTown on September 7.
