Fresh/Soph Fillies Take Another From the Storm

On May 4 the Fresh/Soph Fillies traveled to Manlius to meet the Storm. Kate Tenboer pitched and Heather Andersen caught. Both teams held each other scoreless until the third inning. Sam Nye was hit by a pitch. Abby Vock singled and Jen Bush singled to load the bases. Andrea Vegter sacrificed in Nye and Tenboer sacrificed in Vock.

It would be the top of the fifth before any more scoring would take place. Dana Verdick reached second, Vock walked, Bush doubled in Vock. Vegter was walked and stole second. Tenboer singled in Bush. Andersen was walked and Alene Vandermyde sacrificed in Vegter. The Fillies held the Storm to make the score 5-0.

The top of the seventh brought many changes for both teams. The Fillies would score on a sacrifice single by Abby Wiesel and the Storm was allowed a run to make the final score 6-1.

Kate Tenboer pitched another gem striking out 14 in her win. The Filly defense also did their job stopping and holding runners in scoring position. The Fillies are now 13-4 for the season.
