Fresh/Soph Fillies Drop a Marathon to RI Alleman

On April 22 the Morrison Fresh\Soph Fillies traveled to RI Alleman. Kate Tenboer took the Mound with Heather Andersen behind the plate.

Alleman struck first scoring a run in the bottom of the first. It would be the top of the third before the Fillies evened things up. Abby Vock beat out an infield single, a pitch hit Heather Andersen, and Jen Bush was walked to load the bases, and Kate Tenboer walked to push in Vock. This tied the score at one all.

In the top of the Fourth the Fillies struck again. Natasha Nelson, Samantha Nye, and Callie Bush walked and Abby Vock reached on a fielder’s choice. Andersen reached on an infield error that scored three runs. Alleman battled back with a run in the bottom of the fourth and two in the bottom of the fifth to retie the score.

In the bottom of the sixth Alleman scored one more to take the lead. But a diving rolling catch by Alene Vandermyde stopped their scoring. This sparked a two run seventh by the Fillies. Vock drew a walk, Jen Bush doubled in Vock. Tenboer sacrificed Jen Bush to third and Andrea Vegter singled in Bush to take the lead.

In the bottom of the seventh Alleman scored one to tie the game at 6 all. Both teams held each other until the bottom of the eleventh when Alleman scored a run to end the game.

Tenboer ended the game with nine strikeouts.
