The Morrison Varsity Fillies win 7-0

The Morrison Varsity Fillies win at home against Newman bringing their conference record to 3-0 and 7-1 overall. This win also counts for the NEW-MOR-ROC-STER, which gives the Fillies second place. Monica Wright started the game and Brianna Milnes came in the fourth to close it out. Both pitchers faced the minimum batters each inning. Wright struck out nine and Milnes struck out seven.

Kelsey Dykema led off the first with a shot off the glove of the third baseman to reach on an error. Monica Wright grounded up the middle scoring Dykema. Milnes and Vock took a K. Tricia Deter hit to left that scored Wright. Medendorp flew out to right to end the inning. Katie Kuehl led off the second with a hit to left. Brittany Smith moved her on a SAC hit. Cassie Hanson had a hit that dropped over second. Dykema crush one to left for two RBIs. A fielder’s choice and a fly ball ended the inning. Milnes had a triple in the fourth scoring Wright. Jodi Medendorp led off the fifth with a stand up triple and Smith drove her in. Dykema had a hit up the middle to start the sixth and she scored when Michaele Vock walked with bases loaded. Newman finished the game with some good defense getting two outs at home and one at first.

Wright scored twice, had four hits, and two RBIs. Milnes had three hits, a triple, and a RBI. Dykema scored twice, two hits, and a double. Vock had a RBI. Deter a hit and a RBI. Medendorp scored and had a triple. Kuehl scored and had a hit. Smith had one hit and a RBI. Hanson had one hit.
