Brianna Milnes

The Morrison Varsity Fillies win 10-1

The Morrison Varsity Fillies win at home against Sherrard on a cold, rainy Tuesday afternoon. Brianna Milnes scored her first win with excellent ball control and good speed that kept Sherrard’s batters on their heels. Milnes faced twenty-six batters striking out thirteen, three walks, two hits, and one run.

Morrison batted eleven batters in the first inning scoring five. Kelsey Dykema started the game with a hit down third baseline. Milnes, Vock, Deter, and Katie Kuehl all had hits. Kuehl’ hit was a two RBI single right center. They batted around the order again in the third.

Brianna took care of the first nine batters through three innings, with the help of Michaele Vock snagging two grounders towards second. The fourth inning brought the rain that made it a little more difficult for her to grip the ball. The first batter grounded out, the next one walked. Cassie Hanson came up with an awesome catch in right for the second out. Sherrard’s DH had hit to the outfield that scored their only run.

Dykema had three hits, scored twice, a double, one RBI, and three stolen bases. Milnes had three hits, scored once, and one RBI. Vock had three hits, scored twice, a double, a RBI, and three stolen bases. Wright scored twice, one hit, and two stolen bases. Deter scored once, two hits, one RBI. Kuehl scored once, one hit, one RBI, and two stolen bases. Medendorp had one hit and two stolen bases.
