Morrison Sophomore Fillies win last home game

Sophomore Fillies win against Amboy on a night that the girls shot seventy-eight percent from the field in the first quarter.

The first quarter started well for the girls with some good passes and them putting in their first seven from the field. Kelly Tenboer, Katie Tenboer, and Jodi Medendorp all scored and gave each other the ball for assists that gave the Fillies a seven-point lead.

Katie Tenboer started the second quarter off by making her next two. Kelly Tenboer put up two and Erica Sanchez had two. Amboy struggled for the quarter making only one of nine, but did make three of six from the line. Score at the half, Amboy nine Morrison twenty-six.

In the third quarter the Fillies controlled the ball well and ran the clock. Morrison only shot thirty-three percent from the field this quarter but Amboy shot twenty-six.

The fourth Amboy tried to catch up when the Fillies started getting a little lazy with their passes, but Morrison regained its composure and controlled the final minutes.

Kelly Tenboer finished the game with twelve points; three steals, five rebounds, six assists, but was zero for three from the line. Katie Tenboer also had twelve points, six rebounds, one steal, and one assist. Heather Andersen had four, one assist, four rebounds, and missed a free throw. Aimee Kyarsgaard had three, two rebounds, and was one for two from the line. Jodi Medendorp had two, two steals, six rebounds, and one assists. Lindsey Smith had two assists. Erica Sanchez had two, two steals, and one rebound. Emily Brinks had one rebound. Tristan Vanderleest also had a rebound.
