Morrison Sophomore Fillies win

Sophomore Fillies win against Fulton on a night that Fulton took the early lead, but cooled off as the game progressed.

Fulton scored the first four points of the game by out rebounding the Fillies for two easy put backs. The Fillies looked like they were standing on their heels at the boards at both ends of the court. Morrison’ Kelly Tenboer started the Fillies with a steal and drove the lane for the nice lay up. The next four points for Morrison came from good ball movement and Jodi Medendorp looking for Erica Sanchez on the roll under the basket. Kelly Tenboer had another takeaway for the score to cut the lead to one at the end of the first.

The second quarter Kelly Tenboer was amazing by going four for six from the field and pulled in four rebounds this quarter. Jodi Medendorp and Aimee Kyarsgaard dropped in one each for the other four in the quarter for the Fillies while Fulton’ shooters were as cold as it was outside. The score at the half Fulton thirteen, Morrison twenty.

The third belonged to Fulton when the shooters warmed up and went four of nine from the field with two of them from behind the arc. Erica Sanchez was two for three from the field with two more assists from Medendorp. Heather Andersen drove the baseline, had a nice turnaround under the basket, and Katie Tenboer put one in from the paint.

If the second was cold for Fulton the fourth was colder. They were zero for eight from the field and one for four from the line when Kayla Smith put in the only point this quarter for Fulton. Erica Sanchez and Katie Tenboer put in two each and Katie made two free throws for the Fillies six points in the fourth.

Kelly Tenboer had her first double-double of the season scoring twelve, six for ten from the field, ten rebounds and stole the ball five times. Erica Sanchez had her season high of ten, two steals, and two assists. Katie Tenboer had six points, seven rebounds, one steal, one assist, and was two for two from the line. Heather Andersen had two, one steal, and one assist. Jodi Medendorp had two, two rebounds, and five assists. Aimee Kyarsgaard had two, one steal and two rebounds. Lindsey Smith had one assist.
