Sophomore girls lose to Newman

Sophomore girls lose to Newman for the third time this season on Friday, January 23.

The first quarter started with Morrison’s Heather Andersen putting up two quick scores for a Filly four to nothing led that disappeared as fast as it appeared. The girls started having trouble handling the ball and Newman could not miss. Newman jumped to an eight point led at the end of the quarter.

The second was almost an even match with Morrison shooting fivety percent from the field and going seven for eight from the line only to be outscored by one.

In the third Morrison stepped up and played hard by outscoring Newman by eleven. The girls cut the led down to one with two minutes in the third but that was as close as they could get.

The fourth looked like the first for Morrison with several turnovers that led to Newman scores.

Heather Andersen had fourteen points, one steal, one rebound, and was two for four from the line. Kelly Tenboer also had fourteen points, six steals, six rebounds, one assist, and was six for eleven from the line. Katie Tenboer had seven, two steals, six rebounds, one assist, and one for two.
