Sophomore Fillies lose to Erie by one.

Sophomore Fillies lose to Erie by one in a game that Morrison led the entire game until four minutes left.

Morrison came out strong by pressing Erie and holding them to only four points in the first. Sixty percent shooting in the second quarter, from the field gave Morrison a seven-point edge at the half.

The third quarter was almost an even match with Erie scoring eight and Morrison put in six. In the fourth Erie started with three scores from turnovers. Morrison started having trouble working the ball. Kelly Tenboer scored the first points on an assist from Medendorp after a three-minute dry spell. Katie Tenboer put in three in a row from the inside. With forty-five seconds left Morrison had a three point led. Erie fouled Heather Andersen to stop the clock. She missed the front end of the one in one. Erie pulled in the rebound and was able to score. Fifteen seconds left, Morison’s ball, Heather Andersen to the line again, miss. Medendorp with a scrappy rebound gets fouled. Jodi Medendorp at the line with four seconds left, Coach Roddy pulls the girls back to avoid the foul, and she shoots and sees a rebound but is called for the foul. Erie’s Jenny Redell goes to the line and puts in the one and the bonus for the lead. Morrison calls a time out to set up a play but was unable to score.
